How to Control Spider Problems Naturally

Spiders being in the house or taking over the yard isn't the most pleasant thought. Most spiders aren't going to hurt you but some can be very poisonous and cause major problems. No one wants to be in their house always wondering if there is a spider nearby or crawling on them.

There are techniques to naturally control spider problems where you don't have to use chemicals that you might not want to use around your children or your pets.

The first is to be clean. Get rid of food scraps and crumbs. Keep the floors clean. Make sure your garbage is sealed up. This is an important step in most home pest control to treat and prevent problems.

This will not only help with spiders but also other pests that spiders will stay inside the home to eat. Getting rid of other pest problems leaves spiders with less of a food source which will cause them to leave in many cases.

Spiders tend to not like the smells of lemon and lavender. Consider using a dust spray that has one of these smells when you have a spider problem to help repel them. Also put a little bit of lemon oil on the bottom of your broom when you sweep to get that scent all over the floors. You are going to do these two chores anyway so use it against the spiders.

One mixture to consider if you need to spray around the home or yard is made from white vinegar and water with some lemon or lavender essential oil in it. Put this into a spray bottle and spray around the areas that you have spider problems. If you find a web, spray it directly into the web. Be sure to come back to these areas and give it a bit of a spray.

Check your windows and garage for cracks that spiders might be getting into the house. Seal these to make it harder for this pest and others to get into your home.
